Lionsgate and Marvel Animation continue the legacy of the Avengers in September with Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow. The animated movie tells the future of Earth’s Mightest Heroes, where most of the Avengers have been defeated by Ultron. The children of the Avengers have been protected and raised by Tony Stark, but when Ultron reappears it’s time for the teens to sound their own call into action and for a new Avengers to Assemble!
Next Avengers comes to DVD and Blu-ray on September 2nd, but you can catch the movie before then if you’re going to San Diego Comic-Con. Lionsgate is holding a Next Avengers panel on Friday at 8:30pm in room 6A. The panel will feature Supervising Producer Craig Kyle, Producer/Supervising Director Gary Hartle, Writer Christopher Yost, among others involved with the animated film. As part of the panel, they will be screening Next Avengers for the attendees.
If the concept of Next Avengers doesn’t sound all that interesting, give the trailer below a shot. It certainly piqued my interest in the animated movie. (Is that Peter Cullen voicing Ultron?)
