It took no time at all. Swimmer Michael Phelps achieved the impossible - going 8 for 8 on gold medals in this year’s Olympics. Phelps and his team took the gold in the relay and on the first commercial break, NBC started advertising their new special Michael Phelps focused DVD. My wife and I wondered if they still would have run the ad if Phelps had taken the silver. Probably.
The Phelps DVD is available for order over at NBC DVD.com where NBC has made available all of their Olympic DVDs, including a two-disc volume focused on the opening ceremony. Guess that e-mail we received earlier in the week from an NBC rep telling us NBC wasn’t planning an opening ceremony release was wrong. Also available is the highlights DVD we told you about before.
So, if you want a disc to commemorate Michael Phelps’s amazing achievement, NBC has it for you. If you want the opening ceremony, they have that too. Head over to NBC DVD.com to order yours today.

I'll be rushing out to buy this DVD. There's nothing more in the world I love than an overpaid, arrogant-as-anything athlete and an opening ceremony filled with proven lies and faked effects. YAY. Best Olympics ever!
