Rainn Wilson Rocks Out On DVD And Blu-Ray

Rainn Wilson Rocks Out On DVD And Blu-Ray Do you dare allow Rainn Wilson in his underwear into your home? Come January 27th, you might be tempted to because Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release The Rocker on DVD and Blu-ray.

Opportunity rocks when washed up drummer Robert “Fish” Fishman (Rainn Wilson) gets a second shot at stardom by joining A.D.D., his nephew’s high school band. He may be at least double the age of the band’s members, but that can’t stop his passion for rock n’ roll. Even though the group’s first gig at the prom is a dud, the magic of YouTube gives them a very unexpected opportunity. During a four-way iChat practice Fish opts to drum naked. Sure enough, the video hits the net and audiences go nuts for the naked drummer. Now Curtis (Teddy Geiger), Amelia (Emma Stone), Matt (Josh Gad) and good old uncle Fish are on the trip of a lifetime, as A.D.D. becomes a national sensation.

The Born to Rock Edition of the film comes with a number of bonus features. There’s no surprise that this list of features includes some commentary and deleted scenes. You’ll also find six featurettes, a Fox Movie Channel special and four exclusive podcasts. Speaking of your iPod, the disc also comes with a digital copy of the movie if you’d like to watch it on the go. As always, I’m most excited for the gag reel. Even though Rainn Wilson’s humor is rather raunchy and downright disgusting, he’s funny, which is all that matters. Another extra that should please audiences is the “I’m Not Bitter” music video. Actor Teddy Geiger originally hit the pop scene as a singer-songwriter. When the comedic element of the film may go a bit overboard, at least you have some good music to reel you back in.

The Rocker may have not pulled in too much at the box office, but maybe it’ll prove to be more of a stay-at-home hit. You can pick up the two-disc DVD edition for $29.98 and the Blu-ray one for $39.99.
