Occasionally I get a pleasant surprise on the DVD side of things by catching a movie that didn’t earn a huge theatrical release but proves to be a diamond in the rough. The latest picture to get that hope from me is the upcoming Stuck, which stars Mena Suvari as Brandi, a young woman who crashes into a man crossing the street (Stephen Rea), but instead of pulling over, races away with the man embedded in her windshield. What follows can only be described as a dark story that sounds like an early episode of C.S.I., yet the trailer has piqued my interest.
The folks behind Stuck have been kind enough to send over the trailer for the movie, as well as a clip that shows the crucial moment of Brandi’s hit and run. Of course, minus the context of the picture it’s a little weird to see her go tearing off instead of stopping, but it still sets a tone for the movie that makes me interested in seeing more.
Stuck hits DVD on October 14th,, but the real gold is on the same day Blu-ray release, with a commentary track with Director Stuart Gordon, Writer John Strysik, and actress Mena Suvari, as well as three featuretes looking at different elements of the movie. The DVD version will only carry the theatrical trailer for the movie.
