Tonight the NPD Group released the video game sales figures for the U.S.. BioShock 2 and the Nintendo DS eked out wins.
The biggest surprise is probably Heavy Rain's sales. It was released on February 23rd in North America and it managed to get into the top 10 in less than a week. The reviews were strong but adventure games - er, interactive dramas - generally don't sell so hot.
Software
BioShock 2* (2K Marin, Xbox 360) - 562,900 units
New Super Mario Bros Wii (Nintendo, Wii) - 555,600 units
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2* (Infinity Ward, Xbox 360) - 314,300 units

(*includes CE, GOTY editions, bundles, etc. but not those bundled with hardware)
