Hayden Christensen: Still Here

By Katey Rich: 2008-09-05 15:36:12
Hayden Christensen: Still Here Despite all reason, despite all logic that values talent and virtue, despite every critic and moviegoer who has begged that he just disappear, Hayden Christensen still has a movie career. For that matter, Paul Walker, a bland pretty face who I can't distinguish from Jesse Metcalf and Channing Tatum, still has a career as well. Even worse, the two are teaming up to terrorize us with their mediocrity in Bone Deep, a Screen Gems thriller that seemed pretty mediocre on its own, without the help from these two.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Christensen and Walker will be part of a team of criminals with a plan that will net them $20 million, until a detective (Matt Dillon) gets in the way. Chris Brown, T.I. and Idris Elba round out the cast, making it a complete bunch of people who you'd either forgotten existed or don't deserve movie careers in the first place.

wow the girl who wrote this blog just took the words out of my mouth. i am surprised that hayden still has a career after ruining star wars. i think hayden and paul get the roles they want simply because of their looks. although hayden looks a lot better :) i hope this movie is released in the winter or around january-march because that way not a lot of people will go see it as they would in the summer. only reason why i don't want this movie to get a lot of attendtion is because i don't want a lot of people knowing about hayden. the less people that know about him the better. that way he will be all mine :D

Hayden and Paul in the same movie? I'll gladly pay $10 for that, as will every other warm blooded woman on the planet! Hubba Hubba!!!!

Whoa, be careful who you lump into a bad actor category.

I take it you weren't a fan of The Wire, otherwise you would never have lumped Idris Elba in with Paul Walker and T.I.

And if you haven't seen The Wire, I actually feel bad for you.

ha ha Reading articles and comments on blogs these days is getting more and more like the worst of Junior High cliques.

I don't understand the venom here. I haven't seen Paul's work but I do know about Hayden's. He did not ruin Star Wars, he made Anakin one the best characters in the entire saga and portrayed him exactly as George requested. He was wonderful in Shattered Glass and was up for a Golden Globe for Life as a House. He did well in Awake too. His Jumper character (note CHARACTER) was written as a guy with stupendous powers who becomes crass, a bit lazy and arrogant until he meets up with the villians and the demand that he step up and help defend other Jumpers. People had a problem with Hayden, again, delivering the character as it was written. He's a generous person in real life, is involved with charity work but perhaps he is in the wrong arena as he hates the limelight and doesn't want the spotlight. But no one deserves the condemnation I see here...and certainly not someone as genuine as Hayden is.

COMMENT TO AVERY- i have seen hayden in star wars and his acting is very stiff. his face expressions r good but his voice is fouced. to me it's like he's nervous about when he needs to say his next line, after someone else talks. also i see you failed to mention how he did in Factory Girl....he was worst in that movie than in star wars in my opinion..¬¬ Also i do agree be was pretty good in life as a house, although he could have done a lot better, because at times, once again, his voice acting seems fouced...

Comment to Lisa B. - Nothing wrong that I could see with Hayden's line delivery or performance in Factory Girl. Considering he was asked to re-dub and tone down every line for the character because of lawsuits, his performance made for a very cool 60's musician. It was outstanding.

I don't hear the forced delivery you speak of for the most part but I'll give a little and say he may have had a moment here and there. I do hear a unique voice though and I like it. And....I thought his performance in Revenge of the Sith was well done.

Darn, what would they say about Jimmy Stewart today? Or James Dean?

Go and listen to Heath Ledger deliver lines in a Knights Tale or 10 Things and tell me how good that was and yet the movies were popular. Doesn't mean Heath wasn't a good actor. Just means that every actor has their best and not so great performances and they just have to go on to the next role.

  1. Lisa B. Says:

Um lexie...I really don't care what you think of Hayden or other actors, I wasn't even responding to you...So please keep quiet :/
Btw it doesn't matter why he was horrible in factory girl ;)
