Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem co-directors Colin and Greg Strause have been promising all along that their new entry into the burgeoning Predators fighting Aliens franchise will be the movie fans have wanted to see, but it looks like what we won’t see are any of the characters we care about from the previous, better movies.
MTV has been all over AVP-R this week, and they’ve been talking extensively to the Brothers Strause who told them that despite their best efforts to the contrary, none of the stars of the Alien movies will be in their movie. “We actually went after a couple of people that would have been really cool cameos.” Unfortunately, those people have apparently seen the first, disappointing AvP because they say at least one of them “shockingly blew” them off. “A the other we just didn’t have the money to do it,” says Greg.
The movie may not have Sigourney Weaver or even Paul Riser, but it if you’ve seen the R-rated red band trailer that’s been circulating for it you know it’ll have tons of gore. The Strause Brothers tell MTV that bathing the movie in blood is their way of earning back the fans that Paul W.S. Anderson’s original AVP lost. In particular they seem excited in their interview about a scene in which they have a chest burster come out of a kid. Sounds um… delightful.
For more details on all the gore being dumped into AVP-R, click over to MTV. Meanwhile, they’ve also debuted two new AVP-R photos. See them below or seem them in high-res over there.

Was looking forward to seeing this but I think we have to pass this bye. Seems like showing kids get offed in movies is becoming more popular and we dont want to spend our money to see that crap. Whats up with showing babies who will eventualy get murdered by aliens or a kid getting his guts torn up by one, whats the point? PURE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
