It’s funny how things change with a little time. A few years ago Vin Diesel’s star was on the rise, and he wanted nothing to do with the Fast and the Furious franchise. Now he’s in decline and he’s not only in the next movie, Fast and Furious, but he’s directing a Fast and the Furious prequel too.
CS reports that both Diesel and fellow fallen Fast and Furiouser Michelle Rodriguez will star in the prequel, which will be some sort of 20-minute long tie-in, not a full fledged, separate movie. Also in the short will Sung Kang reprising his role as Hang.
It’s unclear exactly how you’ll be able to watch Diesel’s prequel, though he’s talking about the project he hasn’t said whether it’ll show up on DVD, on TV, or as some sort of exclusive iTunes download. It seems a little short to be a TV special or a separate DVD release of it’s own, and it seems like way too much star power and effort is being put into it, for it to be some sort of throwaway DVD extra.
