The trailer for Neil Marshall’s new post-apocalyptic action thriller Doomsday is here, and it looks sort of like Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome cross-pollinated by I Am Legend and starring the fake Kate Beckinsale. I actually feel a bit sorry for Marshall, last year was so overloaded with movies about post-apocalyptic societies destroyed by infections I have a feeling he’s going to have a hard time cutting through the noise with this one.
Similarities to other ideas aside, Marshall’s a talent and I think the trailer does a decent job of making it look fun. It starts off slow, and fools you into thinking it’s another boorish zombie movie, then kicks into high gear with a lot of Bob Hoskins. See it for yourself. Click right here.
