Now that Punisher: War Zone has been pushed back till whenever, Lionsgate’s only big summer movie is Disaster Movie, due out at the very end of August… barely soon enough to qualify as a summer movie at all. The film is another genre spoof movie. In this case it’s supposed to be parodying the disaster movie genre, but like all of these parody movies it can’t seem to stay on target.
Till now the movie’s bee promoted primarily with spoof posters. That one to your right is the third spoof poster they’ve released. Meanwhile the first official image from the film has also just been released, and much like that teaser poster it’s not a scene making fun of The Core or Independence Day or The Poseidon Adventure, or any of the literally hundreds of disaster movies there are out there to parody from. No, instead they’re mocking Enchanted, a movie which couldn’t possibly be further from Disaster Movie’s stated target. Bad enough these movies have to be unfunny, can’t they at least stick to their premise?
Check out the image below, and join me in cringing at the thought of how awful this thing is going to turn out:

God its so damn true, these things barely ever follow a plot at all and if they do have something resembling a plot, it usually goes off into 1,000 tangents on movies that have NOTHING to do with the topic. I bet you $100 that there will either be a Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan or Miley Cyrus look-a-like in there somewhere
