For the one or two of you who actually liked Life is Beautiful, Miramax presents Happy Go Lucky, another one of those movies about an annoyingly cheerful person who refuses to stop smiling no matter how much life craps on them. In real life, we’d call such a person delusional. In a movie, I guess it’s supposed to be cute and uplifting.
Sally Hawkins stars in the film as Poppy, and she does manage to be cute. I’ll give her that. If you’re not annoyed by the kind of person that might ask you if you have a case of the Mondays, then you’ll probably have fun with Happy Go Lucky and her performance.
