Has Morgan Spurlock Found Osama Bin Laden?

By Josh Tyler: 2007-12-04 14:26:36
Has Morgan Spurlock Found Osama Bin Laden? If Michael Moore is America’s number one documentary filmmaker, then after releasing Super Size Me Morgan Spurlock definitely became number 2. Except while Moore makes more point of view movies, Spurlock’s work is a lot closer to being what we think of when throwing around the word “documentary”.

His next project is by far, his riskiest yet. Spurlock has finished his new movie Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, in which he sets out to do what the United States government has apparently failed to do: Find Osama Bin Laden. The Weinstein Company bought the thing after seeing only 15 minutes of it at the Berlin Film Festival, and here’s where it gets really interesting. Rumor has it that Spurlock actually found Osama Bin Laden.

The film’s director of photography told SlashFilm that Morgan “definitely got the holy grail.” Since the movie is about him hunting Osama, that would make him the holy grail… wouldn’t it? For now though, everyone around the production is keeping things locked down.

The film is supposed to debut in Park City at Sundance this year, and since tomorrow is the deadline for them to notify people who have received press credentials and I still haven’t heard anything, I guess I won’t be able to report back on it. I’m sure someone more important than us will. Whenever we all finally get around to seeing it, I can’t even begin to imagine the media madness this film will unleash if Morgan Spurlock actually found and hung out with Osama Bin Laden. It instantly raises a lot of important questions like... if mustachioed Morgan Spurlock can find him, don’t you have to assume the US government isn’t even trying?

  1. sandman Says:

I thoroughly enjoyed "Supersize me" so this will ,in the least, be interesting. Did he find him hanging out at the CIA under his code name Tim Osmond (Osama's assigned name when he was an asset for them in the 70's and 80's)? Or did he find the fat Osama that confessed to 9/11( debunked as a fake)? Or did he find his grave (numerous rumors of his death)? Either way I hope it leads to more pressure for a new investigation regarding the crimes of that fateful day when, according to the official conspiracy theory, 19 muslims (mostly Saudis)and a cleric with a laptop in a cave were able to fool our 40 billion dollar defense industry without any help from the inside.

The things that make you go hmm....

  1. bonny Says:

Must see Documentary - "No End in Sight"
Will explain why the U.S. is not looking for Osama

  1. Paul Says:

    Ohh that is too precious!!

  1. Jason Says:

I'm willing to bet that what he found is Osama Bin (dead six years) Laden's grave.

  1. DHS Says:

    Osama Bin Laden?

You mean former CIA asset Tim Osman?

"Al Qaeda" = "The Database"? of fighters fighting the soviets?

CIA funded ISI? ISI funded hijackers?

Osama Bin Laden? Ha. What a joke. Does anyone still believe this guy anymore?

  1. Osama\'s twice removed cousin Says:

It's true! He found him! Osama was pissed when he was found out.

I told osama, sh*t, sucks to be you cuz!

  1. John Alen Says:

"It instantly raises a lot of important questions like... if mustachioed Morgan Spurlock can find him, don’t you have to assume the US government isn’t even trying?"

It sure would. But, despite being the obvious point here, that won't stick. Instead, the government would doubtless vilify him for knowing his wearabouts, and not disclosing them. Far from being respected, a certain type of media horror would be unleashed on poor Morgan Spurlock.

  1. Downunder Says:

He would not only be vilified, he'd probably be harrassed and his life made a misery by the most paranoid government in history. Governmental hipocrisy would be in full force and, once more, someone who dares challenge the government would be made a scapegoat.

  1. Freethinker Says:

Here's how i predict this will end:

    1 - Documentary is released
2 - Media coverage of right wing protesters, Spurlok publicly condemned as a left wing michael moore style anti-american
3 - Information in the documentary will show the grave of osama and that he has been dead for a number of years
4 - Spurlock appears on various 24/7 news programs, like O'reilly where they will bombard him with questions like, if that reall is the grave of osama, why wasn't it dug up and the DNA tested and verified and blah blah blah and the evidence that will shown will be brushed off as hear-say/unprovable evidence of osama.
5 - Right wingers will cling onto the "lack of evidence" that osama is dead in much the same way left wingers cling onto lack of evidence when speaking creationism. meanwhile this documentary will be the hot topic for about 6 months.
6 - The government will release report after report showing that osama is alive.
7 - A new "tape" of osama responding to the accusations will appear
8 - Some people will confirm the Osama tape to be real
9 - Others will dismiss the tape as propoganda to keep osama followers believing and stay on the course against us white devils.

  1. All To True Says:

I have to agree with Freethinker. No matter what is released in the movie, whether hes alive or not, the right wing neo-cons and their stewards Fox News, are going to try and destroy this film and Mr. Spurlock any way they can.

  1. Ethan Says:

Its clear to me that the 9/11 attacks were in fact an inside job. OBL is most likely dead.

  1. Maani Says:

The reason that the U.S. goverment never really tried to find OBl is because he was a willing participant in a larger cabal behind 9/11, which included "inside" personnel (take some guesses...LOL). Sure, Bush talked about "dead or alive" and "smoke him out." But he was likely on the phone to OBL the same day saying, "Don't worry: it's all for show. We'll send some Navy SEALS, spend some time in the mountains, but just hang tight - no one's gonna bother you." Indeed, less than a year after 9/11, Bush said in an interview: "Bin Laden? I don't really think about him much anymore. He's been marginalized and there is a bigger war on terror to fight." This speaks volumes about how "serious" the original hunt was.

In addition, it is a well-known fact (not a "conspiracy theory" conjecture) that OBL goes to Dubai twice a year for dialysis. He has been photographed in and out of the hospital there, and, according to some Dubai nationals "in the know," was visited by a CIA official within the past two years.

Wanna bet Spurlock caught up with OBL in Dubai?

    Peace.

  1. \\\\\\\'spracy Says:

So... Bin Laden is the 9/11 Oswald.

Meeting with OBL in Dubai? Really unlikely! How does Spurlock reach OBL without the folks watching Spurlock also "finding" OBL?

Even if OBL was alive & cool with meeting Spurlock, how would either avoid serveilance? American red-headed white man with camera crew meeting with 6'4" OBL?

If that meeting ever took place the next news would be this:

    Press release:
American independant film maker Morgan Spurlock found dead in Dubai hotel room. Dubai police are treating Spurlock's death as a suicide. Initial reports suggest Spurlock died from multiple self-inflicted gunshots to the head.

  1. Ex-Expat Says:

Also agree with Freethinker. Right wing and mass media will say he's lying or delusional or using faulty evidence/reasoning, etc. Any news reporting agency that dares to lend this one iota of credence will be summarily dismissed as a disgusting example of the biased "liberal" media... even though the mass media is only as liberal as the ultra-rich mega-corporations that own it. Almost all American media is controlled by - IIRC - six megacorps. So yeah, it's biased, all right. I recently read that increasing numbers of Americans are looking to foreign news sources in an attempt to get some unbiased information for a change.

All that said, I myself would be skeptical of a gravesite with anything less than DNA testing by several independent sources with a strong reputation for impartiality. Frankly, enough years living in the States has served to make me extremely distrustful of things like this - especially of anyone who stands to reap monetary, political, or personal gain. That necessarily includes Spurlock, despite my admiration for his previous work.

My prediction: spin doctors from both political wings, especially the right wing, will dissect it to death, and it will be yet another circus freak show of American politics as usual. Because of this, in the end, most people will just throw up their hands and say they don't know what the heck to believe. I hope against hope that I am proven wrong.

  1. drdwl Says:

I just hope we're not disappointed with what is actually on camera. I hope it's real solid proof, like a live Bin Laden walking about.

We all know 911 and the whole War on Terror is US government sponsored. Watch Zietgeist, the movie on Google Video. It will blow your mind.

    Also watch 911 Mysteries.

  1. brian davidson Says:

he found bin laden? wierd. how did he get onto bushes crawford ranch?

  1. katherine Says:

It stands to reason that a sick old man like Osama would slip up eventually. If Spurlock found Osama, I have to wonder why he didn't load the lod coward up and bring him home. He needs to stand and explain himself, and so does Mr. Spurlock.

  1. Dave Says:

Obviously Spurlock found Bin Laden in Al Capone's vaults.

  1. Brian Says:

Osama bin Laden is with the grassy knoll gunmen.

  1. homie Says:

OPEN YOUR EYES, YOUR GOVERNMENT LIES!!

  1. boostah Says:

i bet he shaves and looks like a really nice guy that wed all like t invite over for tea

  1. Shandooga Says:

OBL is totally irrelevant. There is no way 4 planes were hijacked on the same day and *none* were intercepted. Inside job. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ghouliani and the whole last page of the PNAC report did it.

  1. Really? Says:

Wow...this site is a complete freakshow, if these comments are any indication. All of your 9/11 "conspiracies" have be debunked about a hundred times. You folks need to listen to your doctor and get back on your meds. Seriously.

  1. You are all dumb Says:

Morgan Spulock is an idiot, he blames fast food resturaunts for obesity in the US. It's your own damn responsibility!

  1. Dameon Says:

He cant be an idiot, you're on a message board debating about his movie that you haven't even seen yet. He's already started a fire and you're allowing it to burn by continuing this. He's gonna make millions, and imagine how much better his life will be if all you keep talking about his movie and he didnt even find Osama it's all a joke...he will be MUCH MUCH richer.

To the guy before me: It's your own damn responsibility? So replacing Micky D's with an organic sandwitch joint wouldn't help the problem? THEY control the garbage they feed people, THEY do, people choose it for convenience, people need convenience because almost every one is in a rush, almost every one is rush because of how society is here THUS why people aren't in a MAJORITY fat asses in other countries such as Japan. You my friend, are the true idiot.

  1. apexpredator Says:

    Ha ha!
Really? Do you really think your ill prepared, no thought quip would make us shiver? We laugh at people like you know. One day we hope you get the joke.
We are not on meds. We READ. We RESEARCH. Regardless if Spurlock found OBL, the idea is OUT. And nothing can ever stop it. NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

  1. emmarose Says:

if he did find osama....that would be HYSTERICAL!! our incompetent idiot government cannot, but this filmmaker can. osama is on dialysis, is barely hanging on, and we just can't find him. jesus. our government is a joke.

  1. tconley Says:

Bravo It's about time someone starts to show how incompentent our elected officials are in regard to capture the number one terrorist in the world. I have a web site that demands the capture of bin laden, www disappointedvoter.com.It also demands that if the current candidates do not make this endeavor a primary concern they need not look for my vote on November 8,2008. Currently I'm giving t-shirts to the troops serving in Afganistan to wear to voice their beliefs since they are putting it all on the line. Demand no more lip service from our elected officials. Either lead us to and capture this terrorist or step aside. www.disappointed voter.com GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS.

  1. QueenLily Says:

Would you not rather be right here in the good old USA eating steak and lobster instead of in some old cave in Afghanistan?
