Star Wars fever hasn’t taken off for Star Wars: The Clone Wars like anyone who was around a few years ago might have expected. Is it because the movie is animated? Is there an expectation that animation means Star Wars is heading into children’s territory? Or has George Lucas finally turned his formerly-rabid fanbase against the saga through disenchantment, and the recent move to animation and video games?
We got a chance to a few people behind the scenes of Clone Wars, director Dave Filoni and producer Catherine Winder, during San Diego Comic Con. Among our questions were the direction for the Star Wars franchise, Lucas’s involvement in the latest animated movie, and just how tied into the existing franchise this animated movie will be.
