In 2004 Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman made a round-the-globe trip from London to New York on their motorcycles. The trip was documented and became the miniseries The Long Way Round. Last year, the two went on a second trip that took them through Africa which has been turned into The Long Way Down. The documentary will air in a miniseries format next month, but first Fathom Events is bringing a special director’s cut of the trip to theaters for a one-night event.
We got the chance to talk to Ewan McGregor (the Star Wars prequels, Big Fish) and director/producer David Alexanian about The Long Way Down - the goal behind trips like these, the trials and tribulations they faced, and moments you can’t capture on film.
Check out our interview below, and check out Fathom Events for more information about the special theatrical showing of The Long Way Down.
