As I write this it has been April Fools on the east coast for more than a half hour now, and then means otherwise honest journalists and publicists (ok maybe no so much with the honesty where publicists are concerned) are busy concocting fake stories to feed you. There’s a pretty good chance of one of them, or maybe not.
AICN is reporting that they’ve been told a new trailer for The Dark Knight will soon be appearing on this website. Right now there’s nothing on there but a picture of a suitcase and envelope with today’s date, 4-01. A little research into who owns the domain name reveals nothing. The domain’s ownership is hidden, so there’s no way to know if it’s owned by Warner Bros., the only method we have for determining whether this is just some guy whoring for traffic or an actual website where the WB may be showing off their movie.
So enjoy playing wait and see.
It would be rather appropriate to get a new Dark Knight trailer today though, since the Batman sequel’s marketing campaign is focused primarily on the Joker and nobody loves a day full of random pranking more than the clown prince of crime. We’ll let you know if anything comes of it.
UPDATE! The site is now active. Click on the envelope, and you'll be sent off on another one of those awful Dark Knight viral marketing scavenger hunts. Enjoy wasting your time.

The mailing envelope is open now. Clicking on it leads to a list of cities. Instructions are up for, as I type this, three of them. Looks like another ARG.
Let the flash load... then click on the paper coming out of the manila folder and proceed. No trailer yet but it looks like they have some free stuff for people to find around the world.
