Penelope Cruz may re-team with Spanish director Pedro Almodovar sooner rather than later. Their last movie together was Volver, for which Cruz just received an Oscar nomination. What worked once may work again, as Variety says Penelope is likely to take on the female lead in Pedro’s next movie La Piel que habito. Pop that into Babelfish and you get “The Skin That I Live”. The skin I live in?
The film is based on a book called “Mygale”, a dark book about a plastic surgeon exacting revenge on his daughter’s rapists. It’s described by critics as gruesome, bizarre, and “gender bending”. A far cry from the much more upbeat Volver.
