The best comic book movie I've ever seen. Ever. It should be nominated for an Oscar. And Heath ledger should not only be nominated, but he should win!! Not because he died so tragically at such a young age, but because he truly embodied the character of Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime. You could see it in those crazed, empty eyes, how he lived and breathed the Joker, finally bringing the true Mr. J to the world in live action. When my fellow comic book geeks (if you will) and I first heard that Heath Ledger would be playing the Joker, most of them jeered at the idea, calling Ledger "too much of a pretty boy." But I stood my ground and disagreed with the majority. I have been a huge Heath Ledger fan for years, not because of how hot he is, but because his acting rivals that of the likes of Johnny Depp. And I was anything but disappointed. This movie blew my mind! LONG LIVE HEATH LEDGER!!!!!!
I'm sorry but I just saw this film tonight and was deeply saddened by how terrible it was. It didn't come close to living up to the hype and was not nearly as entertaining as the first one. The Joker was my favorite aspect of the movie but he was not enough to make this movie good. I love Batman and I am just really upset about this tragedy of a sequel. It's hard for me to believe that people actually think this movie was any good I feel as though they just really want it to be.
Wow, good thing that I didn't see the movie brazil211 saw... sounds like it was pretty terrible. "TDK", on the other hand, is simply the smartest and greatest of all comic book-based movies. Heck, it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. It definitely should get Oscar consideration.
Major dissapointment! What an over-wrought piece of explosion garbage! No story - POW! No suspense - Bang! No editing - Boom! No coherence or consistency in the characters - OOF! Joker was OK during the first hour - BIFF! Cell phones to find the Joker - LAME! WTF! Commissioner Gordon - Who Gives a Shit! Set piece - Explosion! Set piece - Explosion!...two and a half hours later.. Set piece - Explosion! THE END! Very dark, indeed!
