He's back. Yes, the Cheech Marin to Uwe Boll's Tommy Chong is coming back after months of self-imposed exile after inflicting Alien vs Predator on the world.
Amazingly, despite being unforgivably awful, the horror sequel Resident Evil: Apocalypse actually made quite a bit of money. Seems the 12 - 16 year old PS2 demograph is money in the bank. So to that end, Constantin Film and Impact Pictures are reteaming to produce not one but two more sequels of kiddie-friendly-R-rated zombie nonsense. Paul "Fan-Fic Writer" Anderson is currently finishing the script to the third installment which will film in the Australian outback substituting as the Nevada desert, presumably because Australia is the studio-funded movie's tax haven. Resident Evil: Afterlife will take place in a post-apocalyptic future overrun with maurading zombies. Milla Jovovich is expected to reprise her role as action heroine Alice (much like Kate Beckinsale, it seems Milla has discovered that bedding up with a franchise writer/director can work wonders for keeping a girl's acting career alive). Apparently the movie will somehow end in Japan in order to set up the fourth installment of which there are no details except that the project has been greenlit. Japan? Will we be seeing kung-fu, schoolgirl panty lovin' zombies in the fourth installment. Or will they be teaming up with the Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift guys for some cool zombie drag racing with Bow Wow. The mind boggles. Just when movies were starting to look good again. Ah well...
