Not long ago we reported that horror veteran George A. Romero was venturing away from his beloved zombies to try something a little different. Now though, it looks like he's already back at it.
Variety says Romero is planning to write and direct a film that sounds more like the product of one of his imitators than something worthy of him. It's called George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead, and it's the story of a group of film students who encounter real zombies while making a zombie movie. Sounds more like "The Twilight Zone" on a bad night than a film from the guy who made Dawn of the Dead to me.
George is also producing it through his Romero-Grunwald Productions. Production starts October 11 in Toronto.
