We told you the other day that MTV would be providing your first look at Twilight, the teen novel about vampires and young love. They’ve now put the scene online for your viewing pleasure. The scene shows an interaction as James lures Bella to the dance studio, but his plans are interrupted when Edward shows up and the two vampires are drawn into conflict.
I have to say, I’m not all that impressed. As I said the other day, I’ve not read the novel yet (but I will be amending that this summer), so I can only assume this scene has some sort of significance to fans. It seems like a pretty bland first look to give to people who don’t know the movie though.
Take a look at the Twilight clip below or head over to MTV.com where they have a larger, high definition version available.

Yes, you need to read the books to know what you're talking about. Otherwise, you're only privy to a single minute of knowledge.
They wouldn't give you a clip of anything too revealing. It's teasing, only giving you a taste, and it's not meant to be viewed only on it's own. It's a minute of an entire film. I challenge you to take a single minute out of ANY film, show it to someone (who hasn't seen it before) and ask them their opinion based only on that minute.
While I was not particularly thrilled with how brief the clip was, I did like the fact we got to see James, and Bella, and a clearly enraged--and torn--Edward. And if I wasn't thrilled about how brief the clip was after having read through the whole series twice, I can honestly tell you there is very little way you can form an opinion of the movie from what it showed. Frankly, you can get more information from the teaser trailer and the collection of videos MTV has on its site from the production of the film. There were probably better bits they could have shown us...but seeing Robert, Kristen and Cam in an action scene grabbed people's attention and rewarded those of us who have been patiently waiting to see even the smallest part of the finished product.
Well of course you wouldn't be impressed! It's just one minute and you can tell that one part in the middle was cut off, probably for time. Anyway i thought that it wasn't bad at all, though i didn't like how short it was. I love Edward!!!!!
Although I don't really think this was the best clip to show people that haven't read the books it was still a great looking scene! I think Kristen and Cam are a good fit for these roles and I'm starting to like Robert too now that I've seen a little more.
Thank you for the article, glad you're still planning on reading the books!
I will reiterate what has been already said. This is not meant to be a "trailer" of the movie, nor is it really meant to inform anyone that doesn't know what the movie is about. For us loyal fans, it's a treat. We know the thoughts running through Bella's mind in this scene and, although this clip is a little different from the book, we're amazed to see Edward in all his tortured glory on the screen!
I can see how you would not be impressed with this clip. Read the books, then (hopefully) you'll be as thrilled with it as the rest of the Twilighters!
For People who havent read the novel and dont know how great it is, your going to be cynical. Once you've read the book then give you opinion. DONT Just assume this to be a stupid remake of a book because believe me - THIS WILL BE BRILLIANT.
My daughter and I are busting at the seams for the movie release in Australia. Have to wait a little longer than the US.
Planning a HUGE Twilight party..............Can't wait.
This brief clip makes the wait all the more painful................The love and passion in the writing of these books has totally captivated all of us Aussie Fans.
This movie will be a master piece of an excellent writer.
Lets face it we are onto our 4th copies of all 3 books so far released they are getting worn out from being overread.
I quite like the scene, though I was expecting A LOT more blood on Bella, as in the book she is broken and bleeding profusely by the time he arrives. However, it just makes me excited for more, I am a huge fan of Robert and Twilight. Pattinson continues to be brilliant, after seeing his other works I am continuously enamored with him and his acting abilities. His face is unbelievably expressive. The shot of James through the mirror is beautiful. I can't wait. If the film doesn't open here in the UK on December 12, I am flying to NY to watch it.
you need to read the books to fully understand the clip and be able to know how we know how edward feels about seeing Bella seating there hurt. But the best thing do is go see the movie and you will understand why we are all crazy about this moive
man, you guys need to chill. this is going to be a great movie, and of course you wouldnt be impressed, its one little minute of a clip, dont judge until you see more or the whole movie. i understand that you might want to read the books, and they are really good. Dont judge the freakin movie until you know what youre talking about sheesh people
You have to read the book to understand!
It's vital!
I've read all 3 of the books in the series so far, and this little clip is amazing. I can't wait to see this movie!
