The first trailer for Speed Racer is here, and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. The movie looks a lot better in motion than it does in those garish, laughable still photos released by Warner Bros. yesterday. They should have led with this, instead of those ugly, Pinball meets The Running Man monstrosities.
That’s not to say it isn’t still a little silly. The racing scenes still look like something out of a really bright, 8 years and under videogame and the whole thing looks exactly like what it is: a movie shot entirely in front of a green screen. That’s not a good thing. Actually, I think I’ve played this racing game. It was called F-Zero. Lot of fun. Laws of physics didn’t apply. Would make a lousy movie.
So watch the first trailer for Speed Racer and let us know what you think of it. Cilck here.

Ha, F-Zero, that game was awesome. If a movie WERE made of that game, though, who do you think would play Captain Falcon? PLEASE don't say atypical big guy, Michael Clark Duncan. Hollywood ALWAYS goes to him if they need a guy with big shoulders (See: Kingpin in Daredevil. Or better yet, don't).
I have been reading the many comments on the Internet about what the trailer of the movie "Speed Racer" looks like, and I guess they never read what they are aiming at with this movie.......it is suppose to look like the animated series not like the Matrix, not like a regular racing movie, etc., etc. I think they have done what they were trying to accomplish, and I hope that viewers are smart enough to understand that.
