Postal is insulting, irreverent, politically incorrect and funny as hell. Postal follows two days in the life of the Postal Dude, in the regrettably named town of Paradise. Just when he thinks he has hit rock bottom, things get worse.

I find myself in an unenviable position. I’m going to have to give Uwe Boll a little credit. That’s hard to do, since it’s my natural instinct to hate the guy. Not for his movies, which I’ve mostly avoided, but for being kind of a tremendous jerk. Whenever he’s interviewed, every time he opens his mouth, he comes off as a swaggering, spoiled, self-deluded asshole with all the intelligence of a jellybean. That combined with the horrible reviews (and the fifteen minutes of Alone in the Dark I endured) has been enough for me to rule him out as a useful part of the human race. Alright, maybe I should actually meet the guy before writing him off, but then I’m afraid of being punched in the face if I say something he doesn’t like. That’s just how Uwe rolls.

Uwe Boll may or may not have the intelligence of pond scum, but I have to give the guy credit: He has big, brass, balls. His new movie is Postal, and the trailers are billing it as September 11th, if it were parodied by the guys who made Scary Movie. That’s right, Uwe Boll has made a September 11th parody movie. In the process, he claims he’ll be attacking anyone and everyone on the planet. The trailers alone should be enough to convince the Muslim world to launch a jihad on him and if I were Uwe I wouldn’t visit Texas. The man’s got massive balls.

There are currently three trailers online for the film and they range from offensive to stupid to outright lies. The third trailer is in fact composed almost entirely of lies, filled with made up quotes attributed to real people. Half of Uwe’s marketing campaign may not even be legal. At least I’d be surprised if it is. Where does the law stand on faking positive reviews from legitimate sources, or publishing falsified celebrity quotes? It can’t be on Uwe’s side. Apparently in addition to not fearing jihadists or Republican rednecks, he’s not afraid of lawsuits.

Boll claims Postal is his way of waking people up to how screwed up the world is. In a statement released on the film’s official site he makes a lot of proclamations about fighting censorship and standing up to an intolerable political situation in which the world is overrun by religious fanatics. He says, “If intelligent people do not stop this madness, then our grandchildren will not experience life.” The fact that he has the bravery to stand up and do something like this, when people all over the world have been killed for saying less is laudable. But is a wacky 9/11 parody movie the way to do it? Or better question… is Uwe Boll smart enough to be considered one of those “intelligent people”.

Uwe continues, “Postal will insult all cultures, religions, political groups and leaders. No one will be spared. The film is intended to provoke thought, laughter and open debate. Our world is out of balance and "POSTAL" will reflect just how fucked up we are.” Is that really what he’s up to here, or is this just another in a long line of crap movies from a self-deluded, failed joke of a filmmaker? Uwe talks a good game, he’s standing on his soap box shouting free speech for everyone and in the process risking being murdered by Muslims or sued by Tom Cruise, but let’s not forget this is the guy who beats up film critics for saying things about his movies that he doesn’t like.

Postal the Movie is based on Postal the PC video game. The 3 minute segment in the beginning of the film is to get your attention, not to attack the victims of 9/11 or their families. Since the original game consisted of 'Dude' being sent on errands by his more than hostile girlfriend. As he attempts to accomplish his errands, more and more things happen to distract him from his responsibilities. Eventually, he goes postal and has to kill everything and everyone that is a threat to him not completing his errands.
My guess is that the cockpit scene in the beginning of the film is to provide a more relative reason for "Dude" to go postal.
I have not seen the movie YET!. I have played the postal games now for almost 10 years. The biggest issue that I have with this movie is the fact that people in this country have to pass judgement on things they don't like and know nothing about.
