Jessica Rabbit Has Been Untooned

When I got word that pixeloo was at the untooning process again, I got a bit worried. Would I now have to be creeped out by an unsightly Peter Griffin? Perhaps an untooned Elmer Fudd would put me off hunting forever. Luckily this time around things are a lot less likely to make your skin crawl. And I’m not just saying that because the character being untooned is Jessica Rabbit. For the most part, the final product looks like Angelina Jolie with red hair and some messed up facial features.
The effect works quite well for this character, although I wonder what source material the artist had to use for the body. No woman I know is built like Jessica Rabbit. Like the Homer and Mario versions it is a bit odd to see a cartoon character brought to life. And let’s be clear on this, what pixeloo does is not take and reinterpret a character. The source image is translated directly into a realistic photo. In other words, this isn’t a picture of Angelina Jolie with red hair. If you’d like to see how this is done, the video below takes you through the first hour. It’s sped up to only take 10 minutes, but you’ll get the general idea.
