Did you know that MTV has a channel just for the Gay/Lesbian/Transgender community? No? Yeah, neither did I. Well, they do, and they call it Logo. You can visit their website and see their full repertoire of TV shows and Films.
The big news for MTV and Logo is that they’ve got a new reality show, and it stars the most famous drag queen of our generation…RuPaul. Yup, he/she is still around, and apparently, still fabulous. Yahoo News reports that casting is still open, and that the “ hourlong, six-episode series is expected to debut on Logo's digital cable channel early next year.”
The show is called RuPaul’s Drag Race, and if you head on over to the show’s website, you can still vote on which queens will get a chance to compete.
The rules for submitting yourself for public viewing are quite extensive, and include an ”Optional music-based performance from list of approved songs found below.
Barbra Streisand - "The Way We Were"
Carole King - "I Feel The Earth Move"
Celine Dion - "I Drove All Night"
Cyndi Lauper - "Girls Just Want To Have Fun"
Dinah Shore - "Buttons And Bows"
Heart - "Alone"
Lauryn Hill - "Doo Wop (That Thing)"
Liza Minnelli - "Theme From "New York, New York"'
Patti LaBelle - "Over The Rainbow"
Tammy Wynette - "Stand By Your Man"
Tanya Tucker - "Delta Dawn"
Teena Marie - "Lovergirl"
TLC – "Creep"
Quite a list, eh? Make sure you check out some of the people competing. It’s quite entertaining.
