NBC Revisits The 2008 Beijing Olympics As the end of the year is always a good time to look back on the years’ biggest events and celebrate them one more time, NBC has decided to revisit the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The summer Olympics definitely had people talking this year. Between the amazing opening ceremony and Michael Phelps’ race to make Olympic history, there are definitely enough reasons to rerun some of it.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, on December 27th, NBC is going to air a primetime special so that we can all relive the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The special is called Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony: TV Event of the Year and will run for two hours. Bob Costas and Matt Lauer will be on hand to host the special, which will include some of the biggest and most memorable moments from the Olympics. Though THR doesn’t specify just how much of the Opening Ceremony will be included in the event, I’m guessing by the title that a good portion of it will feature the outstanding show Beijing put on to kick off the Olympics. The special will also include other highlights, including American swimmer Michael Phelps’ record-breaking performance.

Enough time has passed since the summer that I’m actually looking forward to this special. The opening ceremony really was amazing and it was a lot of fun seeing Phelps secure victory after victory.
